Saint Louis Dentist Helps You Prep For Your Dental Appointment

If you are following the recommendations set forth by the American Dental Association, then you are probably seeing your dental team every six months or so. Each time that you come in for an appointment with our Saint Louis dentist, you have a chance to ask questions and get personalized dental recommendations. Here are some things that you can do to prepare for your upcoming appointment:

1. Take a good look at your smile in the mirror

Examine your dental enamel and your oral tissues in the mirror. Do you see any changes to your smile? You might notice that your teeth have changed in shape/color/luminosity. Are your gums looking red or irritated? These are all things that you should mention to your dental team.

2. Take notes

Prior to your appointment, write down any changes that you notice regarding your smile. Also make note of any questions you have for your dental team. You’d be amazed at how many people forget to ask important questions when it comes time to see the dentist!

3. Check out your current dental hygiene tools

Are you happy with you current toothbrush, floss, mouth rinse, etc.? Our dentist can be a great resource for you: helping you find the best dental tools to meet your oral health needs. If, for example, you think you might need a different type of toothbrush, then let our dental team know what you are currently using, and we can make a recommendation for you.

Don’t think of your semi-annual cleaning as chore that you have to check off of your “to do” list, rather think of it as an opportunity to optimize your oral health routine! Every time that you see our dental team, you can move closer to your dream smile. Our Saint Louis dentists look forward to seeing you for your next check-up!
