Dental Implants in St. Louis, MO

"Same day implants" to replace failing or missing teeth.

The superior immediate placement technique at Saint Louis County Dental. Experience matters!

When a tooth is no longer savable, the absolute best time to place an implant is at the time of extraction. This maximizes bone preservation, improves esthetics and shortens the healing time. Additionally, in our office we can usually place a temporary on your new implant that very same day. No more requiring multiple surgeries or having a gap in the front of your smile while the implant heals. No more driving to different offices all around town for multiple steps that only drag out the treatment and lead to inferior results. No more annoying removable “flipper” teeth that you will have to wear while the implant heals.

We have placed and restored thousands of dental implants utilizing this immediate placement technique with phenomenal results. We can’t imagine doing implants the “old” way ever again.

Dental implants are replacement teeth that allow you to smile confidently again!

Dental implants to replace missing teeth?

Dental implants are individual replacement teeth that look and feel just like natural teeth. They are placed in the jawbone painlessly and with very little post placement discomfort. The titanium root of the implant serves as the tooth root and over time it bonds to the natural bone. An abutment is screwed into the implant and is the part that comes out of the tissue that we will be make a porcelain crown or bridge to cement upon.

What is a bone graft?

Sometimes we use a synthetic or freeze dried bone graft material to ensure that the maximum amount of bone support heals around the implant. Usually the best time to place an implant is the same time that we are removing the tooth. This dramatically shortens the treatment time verses older methods and helps preserve the bone that would otherwise shrink down as the extraction site heals. The actual implants are a different shape then the extraction site leaving empty spaces that we will pack with bone grafting material. This is to make sure high quality bone fills in those areas.

If my tooth was extracted a long time ago, can I still get a dental implant?

Usually yes and with an extremely high success rate but we would need to evaluate you to know for sure. Call us for a $1 consult which includes any necessary x-rays and we can give you all of your options. Whether it is an existing space or we are removing a tooth, you can usually leave with a new tooth cemented on your new implant that same day!
